Caring for your custom garment is super important. After all the time that you spend creating your custom garments, it would be a shame for your garments to not last for a long time. To extend the duration of your custom printed apparel, please follow these tips:
- Wash your garments inside out
- Wash your garments with cold water
- Use a gentle cycle with mild detergent (do not wash your garments too rough, because this will deteriorate the quality of your prints)
- Wash your garment together with similar colors
- Do not iron if not necessary
- If you decide to iron your garments, make sure to iron your garment inside out on the lowest setting
- Make sure to not iron your artwork
- Tumble dry on a low setting
- Hang-drying will prolong the quality of your prints over tumble drying
Things to avoid
There are a few things that you need to avoid when taking care of your custom-printed garments. Make sure you avoid using bleach to clean your garments and in addition to that avoid dry cleaning your garments.
Furthermore, be aware of the effects of high-temperature washing and drying setting when taking care of your custom printed garments. High-temperature washing and drying settings can make your prints less bright or even crack the prints. When you wash your garments, make sure you do it on the lowest settings to prolong the quality of your custom-printed garment.
Wash caring labels
Although it is very tempting to follow the wash caring labels inside of the garment, if you want to extend the quality of your print follow the instructions mentioned above. The original wash caring labels do not take the DTG printing process into account. You should prioritize the instructions mentioned above over the instructions on the fabricant wash caring labels.
